Getting started
Do I need an account to use Gymner?
No. Gymner works the moment you open it — there is no sign-up, no email and no password. Everything is stored locally on your iPhone, and if you enable sync it runs through your own iCloud account.
Which devices does Gymner run on?
Gymner is built for iPhone and requires iOS 17 or later. It runs on iPad in iPhone compatibility mode, and there is currently no Android, web or Apple Watch version.
Does Gymner work without an internet connection?
Yes. All of your data lives on your device, so logging workouts and meals is just as fast in a basement gym with no signal. iCloud sync catches up the next time you are online.
How do I get started on day one?
Open the app, add the exercises you care about (or pick them from the built-in library), group them into a routine, and assign that routine to the days you train. From then on, My Journal shows you what is on for today.
Workouts & routines
Can I create my own exercises?
Yes. Create any exercise you like, tag it with the muscle groups it trains, and choose how it should be tracked — reps, weight, distance or time. Your custom exercises sit alongside the built-in library.
How do routines and the program builder work?
A routine is a named group of exercises with target sets. Assign each routine to specific weekdays and Gymner surfaces the right one automatically. The program builder handles advanced schemes — push/pull/legs, upper/lower, full body or your own split.
Can I organise my routines into folders?
Yes, with Gymner Pro. Create custom folders to group your routines however you think about them — by block, by goal, by gym — and keep your workout library clean and easy to get around.
What is a training program?
A program is an advanced routine that progresses on its own: you set the progression and Gymner increases your sets automatically as you go. You can also start from a pre-built program instead of planning one from scratch. Programs are part of Gymner Pro.
How many routines can I have active at once?
With Gymner Pro there is no limit — every routine you build can stay active at the same time, so your whole training week is scheduled together.
Is there a rest timer?
Yes. The rest timer starts automatically when you finish a set and notifies you when the rest period is over, even if the app is in the background.
What does Gymner track during a session?
Live session statistics show sets completed, total volume and elapsed time as you train, so you can see how the session compares with the last one without leaving the screen.
Can I edit or delete a workout after I logged it?
Yes. Open any past day from the date strip in My Journal and edit or remove the sets you logged. Nothing is locked after the fact.
Meals & nutrition
How does meal planning work?
Build a food plan for the week — breakfast, brunch, lunch, snacks and dinner — and save each meal with its ingredients and calories. Tick meals off as you eat them so your day reflects what actually happened.
What is the current meal indicator?
It shows the meal that is on right now — its time window, calories, protein and ingredient count — on your home screen, so you do not have to go looking for what you are supposed to be eating. It is a Gymner Pro feature.
Does Gymner track macros?
Yes. Meals carry calorie and macro information, and the nutrition breakdown shows protein, carbohydrates and fat against your plan for the day.
Can I reuse recipes across days?
Yes. Saved meals stay in your library with their full ingredient list, so you can drop the same recipe into as many days as you want.
Privacy, data & sync
Where is my data stored?
On your iPhone. Gymner has no servers and no accounts, so your workouts, weights and meal plans never travel to us. If you turn on iCloud sync, the data goes to your own private iCloud container, governed by Apple.
Does Gymner track or sell my information?
No. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising identifier and no third-party tracking of any kind. See the privacy policy for the full detail.
How do I move my data to a new iPhone?
Sign in to the same iCloud account with sync enabled and your routines, logs and meal plans appear on the new device. A standard encrypted iPhone backup restores them too.
What happens if I delete the app?
Deleting the app removes the data stored on that device. If iCloud sync was on, the data remains in your iCloud container until you remove it from your iCloud settings.
Pricing & purchases
Is Gymner free?
The app is free to download and free to use for workout logging, the exercise library, My Journal and Dark Mode. Gymner Pro unlocks the rest.
Is Gymner Pro a subscription?
No. Gymner Pro is a single $9.99 purchase that unlocks everything for good — no renewals and no recurring charges.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open Settings inside the app and choose Restore Purchases. As long as you are signed in with the Apple Account used for the original purchase, Pro unlocks again at no cost.
How do refunds work?
Purchases are handled entirely by the App Store, so refund requests go through Apple. Details are in the terms of use.
Are there ads in Gymner?
No — no banners, no interstitials and nothing to watch in exchange for a feature.
Support
I found a bug. How do I report it?
Email [email protected] with your iOS version, your iPhone model and what you were doing when it happened. That detail makes a fix much faster.
Can I request a feature?
Please do. Feature requests go to [email protected] and genuinely shape what gets built next.
Are notifications required?
No. Meal notifications — the reminders for when it’s time to eat each meal throughout the day — are opt-in, and you can turn them off at any time in iOS Settings or inside the app.
